Beginning A Visionary Year

Traditionally the New Year is brought in with hope that outlines the expectation for this year to exceed every good thing that’s happened in all previous years. A hope that will bring in an abundance and change. A hope that will bring our lives to the fullest potential that we can dream of. It’s a hope and longing that fuels motivation; that is until the discouragement sets in. The hopes of the New Year’s promises start to dwindle, leaving only drowsiness and dismay.

Having a vision for the New Year is imperative for success. What does God’s Word say about this?

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18

“Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.”  Habakkuk 2:2

Hope is truly a powerful source that can motivate us toward change. It’s a tool that can be used to fulfil the visions that are laid on our hearts. This year, let’s take that hope and build on it. Don’t let the fire of hope dwindle. Take your vision and write it out.

  1. Pray over your vision. Ensure your vision is Biblical based. (But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt 6:33)

  2. Write out the 2020 vision.

  3. Include the smaller steps needed to bring the 2020 vision to fruition.

  4. Remain faithful and don’t become downhearted or discouraged. Remember God works in ways we cannot see. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 5:8-9. We don’t always see God’s hand, but know he is working on our behalf. Don’t lose hope. Remember the scripture, Joshua 1:9 “Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord is with you wherever you go.”
