MEET OUR PASTOR
"My purpose is to lift up Jesus Christ through the
faithful exposition of the Holy Scriptures"
This theme has guided Pastor Kenneth Everett Brown for the duration of his 43 year ministry as a United Methodist Pastor. Now, three years into his retirement, he has assumed duties as the Pastor of Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church.
He is a graduate of Ohio University and Trinity (Evangelical Lutheran) Seminary. He currently resides in Lancaster, Ohio with his wife Barbara. Both have called Lancaster "home" since their early youth. They met in high school and were married in August 1961. They have one son, Mark who is married to Heather. The couple has given Pastor Ken and Barb three wonderful grandchildren.
Pastor Brown is regarded as an Evangelical Conservative. In 1992 The West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church bestowed upon him THE HARRY DENMAN AWARD which is The United Methodists Church's highest honor for evangelism and church growth.
In his "non-church" activities, Pastor Brown is a member of all Masonic Bodies, including The Royal Order of Scotland. He is a 33rd degree Mason. He is also a member of The American Rose Society, The Columbus Rose Club, and is a certified Consulting Rosaarian for the American Rose Society.
It is his hope that Newark, Ohio will become a better place through the ministry of Christian Endeavor. He, with the congregation, invites all to come and join us in an exciting adventure with Jesus Christ.
